The Global Wind Energy Council has paved the way for a roadmap on offshore wind development in India with a report that reviews the experience to date in established markets.
The Offshore Wind Policy and Market Assessment Outlook is part of the Facilitating Offshore Wind in India project launched by a GWEC-led consortium in December 2013.
It scrutinises major offshore wind players Belgium, China, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. Although the technical, economic and ground conditions for offshore wind will be unique to each country, the report “seeks to draw out relevant policy and regulatory lessons for India” GWEC said.
