Winners are selected through a comprehensive review and judging process, by a Jury composed of individuals with deep insight into Steve’s personal and professional values. They collectively represent members of Steve’s family, GWEC, REN21 and Greenpeace.
Eduarda Zoghbi
Eduarda Zoghbi is a political scientist, based in Brazil. She is currently working towards her Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Columbia University, focusing on energy and environment and specialising in gender and public policy. She also holds a Batchelor of Science in Public Policy.
Eduarda has been fighting for climate action since she was twelve years old. She has gained international experience by working as an energy and gender consultant for Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), focusing on electricity access policies and mainstreaming gender in energy projects to achieve sustainable development goal 7.
Eduarda has also served as a climate change consultant in Brazil at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she worked with the Brazilian government to manage and implement projects related to sustainable infrastructure, green finance, forestry, and agriculture.
Eduarda is passionate about ensuring a more sustainable world and hopes to play a vital role in achieving the UN SDG 7 targets.

Wangari Muchiri
Wangari Muchiri is a Renewable Energy Engineer and Energy Planning expert, based in Kenya. She currently works as a Programme Development Manager, focusing on Renewable Energy Innovation for off grid and peri-urban communities. Over the last eight years, Wangari has gained international experience consulting in renewable energy, green buildings and sustainability throughout East Africa and Oceania.
Wangari also sits on the board of the Kenya Green Building Society, where she heads up the technical committee who play an integral part role in ensuring the real estate sector in Kenya is sustainable.
Wangari holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Renewable Energy) from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and a Masters of Engineering (Energy Planning and Policy) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
In 2019, Wangari was selected among one of the Obama Leaders for Africa, by the Obama Foundation. Wangari was also selected as a participant of the Women in Wind Global Leadership Program in 2019, and was named a Top Woman Under 30 in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by the Mawazo Institute during Africa Science week.
Wangari is passionate about ensuring a more sustainable world and hopes to play a vital role in seeing the SDG’s achieved by 2030.
