Amanda Niklaus

PPA Transaction Manager, Pexapark

Amanda has 6 years of experience as an energy consultant, energy analyst and economist with expertise in power markets and trading strategies for new energy types in Australia. Amanda provided power market and energy risk management training to over 800 energy stakeholders throughout Europe, Australia and Asia. Since joining Pexapark in January 2019, Amanda has developed the research product line at Pexapark and led a variety of PPA negotiations across Europe. Prior to joining Pexapark, Amanda worked for the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in its operational team providing advice across a range of power market issues to both public and private stakeholders.

Isabel Rodriguez

Investment Director, Glennmont partners

Isabel has more than 10 years’ experience in renewable energy transactions in Europe and emerging markets. In this time she led the origination, investment and financing of solar and wind energy projects globally. Before joining Glennmont, Isabel worked in Envision energy, based in London, being responsible for the origination and structuring of third party financing for all their LaTAM investments; previous to Envision she worked in EDF ER in London managing renewable M&A activity for renewable energy project in the UK and in Acciona energy in Madrid where she was responsible for the project financing of the company’s international Investments. Isabel holds a MSc in structural and civil engineering, from the Universidad Alfonso X in Madrid and a Executive development programme from the IESE Business school.

Judit Szasz

Senior Project Manager in Offshore, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy

Judit has extensive experience in Project Management as Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Department Head. She – together with her dedicated team of individual contributors and managers – led complex telecom and renewables projects across the globe, mainly in Europe, Africa and Asia. She has dedicated the recent 12 years of her professional career to the wind industry with Siemens / Siemens Gamesa. Currently she is a Senior Project Manager in Offshore. Judit is based in Vejle, Denmark, after recently relocating from Shanghai. Judit is a Mechanical Engineer with an Edinburgh Business School MBA and a complementary diploma in Foreign Trade.

Karen Conover

Vice President and Senior Technical Advisor, DNV GL

Karen Conover is a Vice President of DNV GL Energy, a global risk management company with multiple renewable energy advisory and certification offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. She is the founder and former CEO of Global Energy Concepts (GEC), a leading consulting engineering company that specialized in the analysis, design, evaluation, testing, and management of wind energy systems and projects, prior to its acquisition by DNV in 2008. Karen has been working in the renewable energy industry for more than 30 years and she has been a member of the AWEA Board of Directors since 1997. She is a Past President of the AWEA Board, has served as Chair of WINDPOWER, and on the Nominations, Membership and Awards Committees. In 2010, she was recognized as the Industry Woman of the Year by Women of Wind Energy and in 2012, she received the Britt Theismann Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Wind Industry from AWEA.

Kasia Lindegaard

Head of Marketing & New Product Concepts, SCADA International

Kasia is the Head of Marketing & New Product Concepts at SCADA International, where she is responsible for global marketing and communication strategies including branding and implementation and development of new product concept across multiple renewable sources as wind, solar PV and hydro. Kasia is responsible for all business segments, from hardware and software to consulting, and brand recognition and value-adding is a key in all her strategies. Before joining the renewable industry and SCADA International, Kasia has gained 15 years of experience from the ingredients and food industry, having global roles within Corporate Strategy, M&A, Business Development and Marketing. Kasia is based in Silkeborg/Denmark, and has a degree in Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics and Business Administration from Aarhus School of Business and is also an IPMA certified project manager.

Kate Freeman

Managing Consultant, BVG Associates

Kate is a Management Consultant at BVG Associates, where she primarily focuses on energy modelling and analysis. Kate joined BVG Associates in February 2015 after completing her PhD with Plymouth University. Her doctoral thesis involved developing a system model of a wave energy converter and optimising its turbine speed for maximum energy output. Prior to her doctorate, she graduated from the University of Oxford with an MPhys.

Kavita Gandhi

Executive Director, Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore

Kavita has more than 15 years’ experience in the environment and development sector. Kavita has been involved in multi-dimensional projects like the United States Asia Environmental Partnership (US_AEP) and was instrumental in setting up the Clean Technology Environmental Management Centre (CTEM) in the Singapore Manufacturers’ Association. She worked with startups and SMEs as a manager of the Singapore Association for Environmental Companies (SAFECO). Kavita has an MSc in Environmental Management from Wye College, University of London.

Kavita Sinha

Programme Director for Clean Energy, Tara Fund, European Climate Foundation

Kavita Sinha is the programme director for Tara Fund, a European Climate Fund (ECF) initiative for energy transition in Asia (excluding China and India). She is also the interim director for the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership, a multi-donor, multi-philanthropy funded initiative in the region, currently hosted at ECF. In her previous role, she worked with an American multinational firm that provides digital solutions for grid digitalization and smart utilities, where she led strategic partnerships, business development, and government engagement in key Asian markets. In the past she has worked with international development agencies and consulting firms on clean energy, climate change, and infrastructure. She has an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from a leading engineering school in India and an MBA from Rutgers Business School.

Lucy Craig

VICE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION, DNV GL

Lucy Craig is Vice President and Director of Technology and Innovation at DNV GL Energy, where she is responsible for digitalization, innovation and technical governance across service areas covering renewables advisory and certification, transmission and distribution advisory services, power component certification and energy management. She manages investments in innovation projects and DNV GL Energy’s strategic growth segments including offshore wind, energy digitalization, energy storage and solar. Prior to her current role, Lucy managed the region of Iberia and Latin America for DNV GL in Renewables Advisory. Lucy has 30 years’ experience in the renewables industry, originally in wind energy and over the last 10 years also in solar. She has a PhD in electrical power engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Lydia Natalia

APAC Business Development Manager, wpd Japan K.K.

Lydia is in charge of Asia Pacific Region Business Development at wpd Japan K.K., subsidiary of one of the leading European Renewable Energy companies, covering the whole value chain of wind and solar power plants from the development, financing, construction up to operation, management and maintenance of offshore and onshore wind farms, and photovoltaic plants (PV). Her background is in business development, with a focus on renewable energy particularly in South East Asia region, and demonstrated history of working in the financial and consulting services industry. She is skilled in Origination, Negotiation, Business Development and Transformation, Financial Advisory, and Market Research. Lydia is an English and Indonesian speaker with Japanese and Chinese language skills, and holds a Master of Arts in International Economics from Waseda University.

María A. Talaván Luque

Head of Wind Turbines, EDPR / Engie JV

María is the Head of Wind Turbines within the Corporate Technical team of EDPR / Engie JV, focused on offshore wind. María joined EDPR in 2018 from GE Renewables, where she worked as Product Management Leader. Prior to that, she worked for Alstom Wind as wind turbine Certification & Compliance leader, and started her journey in the wind energy industry joining Vestas in 2007, where she held different positions in Technical Sales & Services, R&D and Product Management areas. María is based in Madrid, Spain, and has a Master Degree in Aeronautics & Aerospace Engineering.

Mary Thorogood

Senior Specialist, Strategy and Business, GSR Business Development, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind

Mary joined MHI Vestas in 2018 from Vattenfall, where she led UK stakeholder relations, focusing on offshore and onshore wind as well as Vattenfall’s emerging heat and retail businesses. Before Vattenfall, Mary led Parliamentary Relations for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, focusing on infrastructure, energy and planning issues. Mary’s role at MHI Vestas is to build government, supply chain and societal support for sustainable, long term growth in UK offshore wind. Mary has strong experience of UK offshore wind as it has evolved and grown, working with Government and wider stakeholders to ensure the CfD delivers low cost power and in delivering the Offshore Wind Sector Deal.

Regina Ranieri

Business Development Manager, UL Renewable

Regina Ranieri is the Business Development Manager for UL RENEWABLE in LATAM, biggest consultancy and certification company for renewable industry from USA. Regina is argentinian, and holds an Industrial Engineering degree (UTN) as well as a Master of Energy in CEARE – UBA. Regina has 8.5 years’ experience in renewable energy in Argentina and LATAM region. She has experience in manufacturing wind turbines and also in developing different renewable technologies. Regina is member of Global Energy Council and researcher in renewable energy and logistic in UTN. Actually Regina Ranieri is Director of an executive program in UCEMA, about development and financing of renewable energy. She is also foundation member for AMES ARGENTINA, a civil organization for women in energy, looking for gender integration in infrastructure and suitability sector.

Titiana Zincke

Head of Economic Development and Socio-Economic Development

Titiana joined Mainstream in April 2019 and heads up the Economic Development and Socio-Economic Development function for South Africa. She is responsible for managing the ED & SED team and their outputs according to the requirements of the Department of Energy and the project Boards. Her 25 years’ experience includes community and governmental stakeholder engagement, transformation, enterprise development, supplier development, socio economic development, sustainability, GRI, SRI, Carbon Disclosure Project, UNGC company reporting, implementation of human rights principles, project management, process and plant engineering, operation management, marketing relations, product quality, health, safety and environmental management, risk management, human resource management, industrial relations, employer representation at arbitration, mediation and conciliation cases at CCMA, skills development, employment equity. She holds a MTech degree in Business Administration and a BTech degree in Chemical Engineering. She is on the Cape Peninsula of Technology’s Chemical Engineering Advisory Board.

Toni Beukes

Energy Sales Leader, GE Renewable Energy

Toni is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is responsible for driving GE’s sales strategy in South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Procurement Programme as well as exploring opportunities in other Southern Africa states that are increasingly leaning towards adding wind to their energy mix. Toni brings 12 years of experience in the energy sector across oil and gas and renewable energy. She’s predominantly held roles in legal, governance and compliance and consulting. More recently she served as Country Manager and Compliance Specialist for Vestas Southern Africa. Toni is an admitted attorney and holds B.Juris, LL.B degrees from the University of Namibia, and an MBA degree in International Oil & Gas Management (with Distinction) from the University of Dundee, Scotland. She also recently completed a second Master’s degree through the University of Dundee in Energy Law and Policy (with Distinction), and is a qualified Conveyancer and an accredited Certified Director of the Institute of Directors of South Africa.

Anna Diedrichkeit

Offshore Product Management Leader, GE Renewable Energy

Anna is the team leader for Offshore Product Management, which defines & executes competitive product/technology strategy for GE Renewable Offshore Wind. Before joining Offshore wind in 2017, she was Senior Product Manager for 3MW models in Onshore Wind, which included the development of the 3.X-137, the 3.2-103 and customization of the platform for regional use. Prior to that, Anna completed the Renewables Energy Leadership Program where she had high impact roles in various functions, and worked in Brazil for some time. Anna is based in Hamburg/Germany, and has a Degree in Business Management & Engineering from the University of Applied Science in Muenster, Germany.

Emma Pinchbeck

Deputy CEO, RenewableUK

Emma Pinchbeck is Deputy CEO and sits on the Board of RenewableUK. She is an expert in decarbonisation and a regular commentator on climate change and renewables. Emma strongly supports efforts to improve diversity in the energy sector. She holds several advisory positions, including with Imperial College and Innovate-UK. Previously, Emma was Head of the Climate Change team at WWF-UK and worked in private consulting. She has an MA from the University of Oxford. Outside of work, she ran her first Marathon in 2018 to raise money for WWF’s climate change work, is otherwise a keen competitive rower, and is passionate about sustainable living – even her wedding dress was from Oxfam!

Maria Fernanda Locarnini

Commercial Director, Argentina, GE Renewable Energy

María Fernanda is the Commercial Director at GE Renewable Energy, Grid Solutions for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Prior to this, she served as Commercial Development Director for GE Argentina and in General Manager for GE Lighting for South Cone and Andean. Prior to joining GE, she served as Managing Director for Swarco AG and as independent consultant for the electrical and renewable energy market. She started her career at ABB, where she worked for 22 years and had international assignments in Venezuela, Brazil and Italy, holding positions in Operations, Sales and General Management. Fernanda was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional in Argentina, a master in Software Engineering at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and management programs at IAE, Argentina and Duke University, USA.

Mary Quaney

CFO, Mainstream Renewable Power

Mary Quaney is Chief Financial Officer of Mainstream Renewable Power. She is a member of the Global Leadership Team, is Group Company Secretary and a member of the Risk & Investment and the Safety & Corporate Social Responsibility Committees. She has responsibility for all areas of finance and IS; including financial planning, financial reporting, treasury, tax and has significant transactional and structuring experience. Mary has 17 years’ experience in finance and corporate tax. She has been with Mainstream since 2009 and has previous experience with an Irish headquartered plc and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mary is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with graduate and post-graduate qualifications from University College Dublin.

Sarah Barber

Programme Leader Wind Energy, University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil

Sarah currently leads the Wind Energy Research Programme at the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil in Switzerland, where she is responsible for projects on high-fidelity wind modelling, smart measurement systems, wind farm acceptance, microgrids, environmentally-friendly blade materials and eLearning. She has been active in the research and development of wind turbines in Switzerland and Germany for more than 12 years, including as a researcher at ETH Zurich, a wind energy expert at BKW Energie AG, CTO at Agile Wind Power AG and Group Manager of the Center for Load Measurements at Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy. She holds a M.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Cambridge University (UK) and MIT (USA) as well as a PhD in Aerodynamics from the University of Sheffield (UK). Sarah has participated actively in a range of mentoring programmes, including SwissTec Ladies, FeelScience (University of Stuttgart) and TALENTA (Fraunhofer). She is also a qualified Business Coach (Trigon).

Tebogo Movundlela

CEO, Aurora Wind Power

Tebogo is a CEO with over 10 years’ experience across varying sectors including renewable energy, defence and audit and advisory. Her renewable energy experience has included construction, operation & asset management of the West Coast 1 facility in the role of CFO and CEO respectively, playing a pivotal role in the financial close of currently one of the largest renewable projects in South Africa, Kathu Solar Park CSP, and the role of the interim finance lead for Engie Southern Africa. Her commitment to socioeconomic sustainability has informed her involvement in various initiatives – recently SciencePo’s Global Leaders for Africa’s Development Programme and as former Chairperson of the South African Wind Energy Association. Her tenure included being the wind sector lead in the Public-Private Growth Initiative led by the Minister in the Presidency of South Africa, and chairing the wind industry task team responsible for the development of the industry charter. Tebogo is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Science honours degree from the University of Cape Town.
