Aura Andreina Andueza Peña (Venezuela)

People Business Partner, Ocean Winds

Aura is a People Business Partner at Ocean Winds, an offshore wind joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie. After graduating from law school, she moved to Madrid for a master’s degree in human resources. At EDPR Offshore, she has the responsibility of supporting the development of new offshore wind projects, working alongside local teams for all HR policies and needs in growing wind markets in Europe and Asia. She is based in Madrid, Spain.

Fatma Murray (Turkey)

Country Manager, DNV GL

Fatma has a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with Management from the University of Edinburgh. She started her career back in 2006 in DNV GL’s Glasgow office. She has more than 14 years of experience in renewables and have held numbers of positions ranging from technical to management. Currently, works as a Country Manager for Business Area Energy and holds the Country Chair role for Turkey, Romania, Ukraine and Azerbaijan in parallel to her Country Manager role. She is also an active board member of the two leading associations, namely, Turkish Wind Energy Association (TUREB) and Solar Energy Association (GENSED). She is based in Izmir, Turkey.

Harneet (India)

Contract Margin Review Analyst, Asia, GE Renewable Energy

Harneet is a Contract Margin Review Analyst, Asia, at GE Renewable Energy. She started her career at GE as Parts and Repairs Service Manager in 2011, where she worked for end-to-end management of gas turbine parts repairs and tooling in the region. In 2014 she was made responsible for PMO Risk Management, LTSA & TDI Risk and Insurance Management. Prior to joining GE, Harneet worked as General Manager Commercial at Magppie Group, responsible for imports, exports, custom clearance, government dealings, payment receivables and transit insurance handling. Harneet holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Technology and an MBA in Finance and Marketing. She is based in Delhi, India.

Juliana Kainga (Kenya)

Senior Business Development Manager, Enel Green Power

Juliana holds a Bachelor’s in Telecommunication Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She has worked in energy for over 7 years with her first role being in wind energy for a 100MW project in Kenya working for GE Energy. She is currently working with Enel Green Power a global leader in renewable energy in business development undertaking projects in solar, hydro, geothermal and wind. Her current role covers projects in Eastern Africa and oversight on wind projects in West Africa. She is a board member of the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK), an association that advocates for sustainable energy policies and solutions by private sector players. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Kelly Grace Alcock (South Africa)

Global Impact Programme Coordinator, Oxfam South Africa

Kelly is an Environmentalist and Sustainable Development Practitioner located in Cape Town, South Africa. She is currently completing her Postgraduate Diploma as part of her MPhil Sustainable Development degree at Stellenbosch University. Her experience within the Wind Sector covers feasibility for wind and solar project development and permitting for the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). She is employed by Oxfam South Africa as part of the Global Impact Programme focusing on South Africa’s role in international financial institutions, promoting civic space, engagement, addressing issues of accountability, transparency and mainstreaming women’s rights and women’s economic empowerment. She is based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Laksita Gayuhaningtyas (Indonesia)

Project Manager Development Wind, Akuo Energy

Laksita is a renewable energy practitioner with more than six years experiences within the field. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, and acquired her Master’s in Sustainable Energy Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. She used to work at the biggest Dutch grid operator, where one of her responsibilities was to analyze the impact on large penetration of wind and solar power plant to Dutch electricity grid. She then decided to return to her home country, and joined Akuo Energy to develop a 200 MW Wind power plant portfolio throughout Indonesia. She is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Lam Quynh Tu (Vietnam)

Chief Accountant, Mainstream Renewable Power Vietnam

Tu holds a Bachelor’s in External Economics from Foreign Trade University. She became a member of the Association of Charter Certified Accountants in 2019. Her experiences are strongly based in group financial reporting and Vietnamese tax regulations in fast food, manufacturing and merchandising. She previously worked for Suntory PepsiCo, Avery Dennison and Bosch before joining Mainstream Renewable Power as Chief Accountant. She is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Li-Mien Lin (Taiwan)

Strategic Purchaser, MHI Vestas

Li-Mien Lin is a strategic purchaser at MHI Vestas. Before joining MHI Vestas, Li-Mien had six years working experience in NPI sourcing, general procurement, supply chain management, business development and customer service with a combined Chinese, Taiwanese and German background of working experiences and cross-cultural environment. With the academic background of European economics and diverse language abilities, Li-Mien has combined her industry knowledge together with an international perspective into work. She is based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Lourdes Alonso Serna (Mexico)

PhD student, University of Manchester

Lourdes is a doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester in the UK and associate lecturer at Universidad del Mar in Mexico. She is interested in the social aspects of energy transitions. Her doctoral research looks at the negotiation and conflicts between different sectors of local communities with energy developers in Mexico. She considers that energy transitions are more than shifts of technology, energy transitions are first and foremost social undertakings, and a successful energy transition needs to actively incorporate different sectors of society, in particular communities where wind farms locate. She is based in Manchester, UK.

Mahalakshmi Gunasekaran (India)

Specialist, Vestas Technology R&D

Maha is a Data warehousing specialist with PLM department, Vestas R&D Chennai. she works on integrating data from multiple systems to derive data insights which is used for analysis, decision making and performance monitoring in Change management & Material Master data management She specializes in SQL server programming, development of tabular cubes to build BI reports ,collaborating with stakeholders across the value chain. She also supports the business process improvement and operational execution with these insights & automations. She is based in Chennai, India.

Maria Concepcion Simundac Delos Santos (Philippines)

Lawyer, Partner, Villaraza & Angangco Law Offices

Maria is a lawyer specializing in Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions, Power & Energy, Construction & Real Estate Transactions and Infrastructure. She is a Partner of Villaraza & Angangco, a full-service law firm based in Manila, Philippines. She advises on development, foreign investments, transaction structuring, regulatory compliance, financing and EPC of renewable energy projects in the Philippines. Maria is a Board Trustee, Corporate Secretary and Legal Counsel of Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance, a non-profit civil society organization promoting advocacy, programs, policy directions, financing strategies and best ethical practices in energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy in the Philippines. She is based in Taguig City, the Philippines.

Mariana de Assis Espécie (Brazil)

Chief of Staff – Presidency, Energy Research Office – EPE

Mariana holds a PhD degree and is also a GIS-specialist with an MBA in Environmental Planning and Management. Since 2014, she has been part of the Energy Research Office – EPE team, a state-owned company in Brazil. Her work is focused on geoprocessing, sustainability and socioenvironmental issues regarding energy planning in Brazil, comprising the elaboration of environmental reports mainly for onshore wind expansion for the next 10 years. More recently, she took part on a special study made by EPE that analysed the perspectives for offshore wind development in the country. She is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Natalia Sofía Zacur (Argentina)

Electrical Consultant

Natalia grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she is currently based. She is an electrical engineer and graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires. She is currently pursuing a master degree in Renewable Energy and specializing in Wind Energy at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN). She is currently serving as an electrical consultant for FREBA, and previously worked as an electrical designer for high voltage substations at TECMAS. She has also served as a project manager for medium-voltage projects at ABB and project leader for electrical safety certification at IRAM. She previously worked in the market regulation area at AGUEERA, evaluating energy contracts and teaching courses.

Pavina Adunratanasee (Thailand)

Project Finance Specialist

Pavina Adunratanasee is passionate about accelerating the clean energy transition across global energy systems. Most recently, she worked in the project finance team at Neoen Australia, a global independent power producer of utility-scale solar, wind, and storage assets. Prior to this, she worked at Siemens Financial Services where she advised independent power producers and was responsible for structuring financing solutions for onshore wind projects in the Asia-Pacific region. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University (USA) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University (USA).

Yulia Shamis (Russia)

GR & Business Support, NovaWind

Yulia has diverse experience in various leadership roles in the energy sector in Russia, with almost a decade in the wind energy industry. She began her career in the period of reforming the energy sector in Russia. After successful reforms implementation, she continued her journey in utility sector consulting, and then returned to the energy industry to focus on remote territories of the Russian Far East and delivering solar and wind projects in extreme cold off-grid territories of Russia. Nowadays Yulia drives wind industry development in Russia as part of the NovaWind team. She is based in Moscow, Russia.

Allison Olivares (Mexico)

Project Engineer, Vestas

Allison lives in Mexico City, and has been working at Vestas since 2015. She began her career as a trainee in PMO construction for Latin America, and then moved to PMO Coordinator Latin America. Since 2018, she has been working as a project engineer on Construction Latin America North. She has worked for one of the biggest projects in Vestas Mexico (Reynosa III 123 WTGs) and Vicente Guerrero (33 WTGs). She is currently beginning the project of Guzmancito in Domenican Republic (16 WTGs).

Busarin Premasathira (Thailand)

Assistant VP, Business and Project Development, B.Grimm

Busarin is a mechanical engineer with more than 10 years of experience in renewable energy and power generation. She holds a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s in Energy Conversation and Management from the University of Nottingham. Busarin has worked as a project manager and engineer for a number of wind, solar PV and biomass projects in Thailand. Currently at B.Grimm, she is a project leader for wind met mast installation in Thailand, Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific, as well as a project manager of a Thai-Vietnamese solar PV project.

Luiza Termignoni (Brazil)

Siting Engineer, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy

Luiza grew up in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She holds an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. She has worked as an engineer at PTZ Bioenergy Ltda in Brazil, DNL GL in Brazil and Chile, and SOWITEC Group GmbH in Germany. In 2017, Luiza joined Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Shanghai as a siting engineer. In her current role, she is responsible for the evaluation of projects with a focus on energy production estimations and on turbines suitability to the site supporting sales teams across Asia and Pacific regions, including projects in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia.

Mercia Grimbeek (South Africa)

Compliance Manager, Mainstream Renewable Power

Mercia studied BCom at the University of Cape Town and completed postgraduate certification in Compliance Management and Values Based Leadership at UCT. Mercia has worked in the renewable energy industry since 2010 and joined Mainstream Renewable Power in South Africa in 2015, where she has oversight of all areas of regulatory and statutory compliance for operational and construction projects. She previously worked as a Project Development Manager, developing projects from greenfield to construction-ready status, and has also consulted to various IPPs. Mercia is the current chair of the South African Wind Energy Association, Chair of the Mainstream Social and Ethics Committee and a member of the Mainstream Global Ethics and Compliance Committee.

Swarna Priya Natarajan (India)

Lead Engineer, Vestas

Swarna is Lead Engineer for Vestas at the Global Siting Center, Chennai. She focuses on wind resource assessments and value engineering of projects in the DACH region, South Africa and the Benelux Union. Other responsibilities include wind turbine loads analysis, commercial optimization, reviewing projects and enhancing team competencies. She has previous experience in Asia Pacific and China markets.

Thembekile (Thembi) Marivate (South Africa)

Senior Technical Leader – Europe and SSA, GE Renewable Energy

Thembi holds a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and a master’s In Power and Energy Systems from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She has experience in engineering support services, power distribution and energy management projects. She previously worked as an Electrical Design Engineer, and worked as a consultant for The Gordian Group to the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Thembi joined GE as part of the Renewable Energy Leadership Program, which includes intensive rotational assignments in Application Engineering, enhanced technical skills, developed commercial and sales competencies. She currently focuses on onshore wind projects in Sub Saharan Africa.

Quynh Tran (Vietnam)

Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Hawaii

Quynh is an electrical engineer who has experience working with power systems and microgrids. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling and optimization techniques in power systems, with the integration of renewable energy resources. She formerly worked as a researcher at the Institute of Energy Science in Vietnam, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hawaii in Manoa.

Wangari Muchiri (Kenya)

Board Member, Kenya Green Building Society

Wangari is a renewable energy engineer and sustainability expert based in Nairobi, Kenya. She holds a bachelor’s in Renewable Energy Engineering from UNSW and a master’s in Energy Planning and Policy from UTS. She is a board member of the Kenya Green Building Society and heads the Technical Committee conducting research in the sustainability industry in East Africa. She previously worked as a Sustainability Manager with JLL, where she helped pioneer the Renewable Energy Buyers Forum aggregating corporate offtakers to purchase renewable energy in Australia.
