Steve Sawyer joined the Global Wind Energy Council as its first Secretary General in April 2007. GWEC represents the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Australia, South Korea, Canada, Uruguay, Norway, USA, Europe, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, Greece and Turkey) as well as the major companies involved in the global wind industry. Steve has worked in the energy and environment field since 1978, with a particular focus on climate change and renewable energy since 1988. At GWEC he is focussed on opening up new markets for the industry in Latin America, Africa and Asia; and working with intergovernmental organisations such as the UNFCCC, IPCC, IRENA, IEA and IFC.

Steve is also a founding member of both REN21, the IEA’s Renewable Industry Advisory Board, and IRENA’s Coalition for Action. Steve holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College and has lived in Amsterdam since 1989.

Since 2016, Mr. Tobias Cossen is heading the Vietnamese-German bilateral cooperation project on the upscaling of wind energy in Vietnam. Working together with the project’s political partner, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), it aims at developing the national wind market through policy advise, capacity development and research cooperation.

Prior to Vietnam, Mr. Cossen worked from 2012 until 2016 for GIZ in Berlin, being responsible for renewable energy business partnerships between German and private sector actors in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. From 2009 until 2012, he worked for the renewable energy project developer JUWI being responsible for the establishment of the regional office in Costa Rica/ Central America and the development of the regional wind energy portfolio including the implementation of total 65 MW.

Christian Brix Møller was born 29 of May 1975 in Kolding, Denmark. Christian is married to Hanne Teilmann Møller and together they have three children.
After finishing his M.Sc. in Political Science in 2003 from the University of Aarhus, Christian has spent most of his professional life in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). During his time in MFA, Christian has been Head of Section for both the Asia Department, the European Policy Department and for the Corporate Strategy and Planning Unit. For three years, Christian was First Secretary at the Embassy of Denmark in China. Later, Christian had the position as Senior Advisor at the Department for Strategy, Policy and Quality Assurance, and afterwards Deputy Head of the department. Since 2014, Christian has been Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam and from February this year Chargé d’Affaires
