Working Lunch – Climate Misinformation and Disinformation
GWEC'S GLOBAL MARKETS THEATRE AT WINDENERGY HAMBURG
Climate misinformation is on the rise on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter amplifying climate scepticism by algorithmically supporting misinformation and moving people away from reliable information. This hinders the social acceptance and perception of the role of renewable energy in the race to net zero via the spread of false or misleading narratives. This is harmful to our industry and exists as a modern day threat in some instances.
This session will drive deeper into who the perpetrators are behind this misinformation and how as an industry we can combat harmful climate misinformation and disinformation.
But who are the perpetrators behind this misinformation and what is the role of AI in fuelling it? Join us for a special discussion as we explore this critical challenge and the solutions required to combat it.
