News for India
Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) released the 2014 statistics and it says that 2014 was the best year in terms of new wind energy capacity addition is concerned. However, what is the matter of little concern is that half of this growth is coming from just one country – China!
China numbers are not grid connected numbers, therefore, China’s capacity addition cannot be directly taken into consideration as such.
Nonetheless, wind energy seems to be fast becoming the most viable option that can probably replace fossil fuels for electricity production. Wind energy market clocked a growth of 44 percent in 2014 with a capacity addition 51477 MW.
