Webcast on Wind: Market Update and Outlook for Global Offshore Wind

19 March 2019 I 10:00-11:00 CET

About the Webcast

Offshore wind is becoming an increasingly important technology to drive the global energy transition. The industry has grown nearly 30% per year between 2010 and 2019, and at GWEC, we expect this growth to accelerate sharply over the coming years as the world races to completely decarbonise its power sector in line with the requirements set out by the IPCC.

With mature markets established in Europe and a developed supply chain, this burgeoning industry is now entering into new markets across the globe and is set to become a $1 trillion industry by 2030 according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). In recent years, China has emerged as the leader for new installations with other emerging markets such as Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam also setting their sights on offshore wind to power their energy transition and create new investment opportunities.
