Join Mr DV Giri, Secretary General of Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association, and Steve Sawyer, GWEC Secretary General, for our 'Doing Business In … India' webcast to be held on 14 March at 10h30 CET.
Wind is not just another business in India. It has transformed the rural economy and has been a boon to rural employment and small businesses. It is a story that has touched the lives of many, with over 27 GW of installed wind capacity across nine states in India.
Ranked fourth in terms of cumulative installed wind capacity, India has huge potential - over 300 GW of wind potential. The government of India has formally announced plans to achieve 60 GW of wind by 2022 and 100 GW by 2030, an average of 6 GW per year for the next 5 years. Furthermore, it plans to raise the share of non-fossil fuel power capacity in the power mix to 40% by 2030.
Steve Sawyer will provide an update of the global wind market, and Mr DV Giri will outline the opportunities for companies wishing to set up their wind business in India.
Join the webcast to hear about:
- The growth trends over the past few years
- Projections for wind in the coming years
- The latest policy changes
- Financing landscape for wind
- Challenges facing the industry
