The US has come off to a flying start’, says GWEC
Discussing the new Global Offshore Taskforce, Stiesdal called it “a way to combine forces when it comes to the promotion of offshore wind on a much larger scale.” The taskforce is aiming to make this promotion a much more coordinated effort outside Europe.
Talking about the main offshore markets beyond 2020, Stiesdal remarked “Europe will of course remain the main market” but said that the US has “come off to a flying start”, saying that “it’s magnificent how the US has come from a first prototype project to now within a few years it has bids that are more or less comparable to the very competitive bids in Europe.”
