Wind farms in the UK produced 130,836 MWh of power in the 24 hours ended at 0830 today, thus reaching a 14.3% share in Britain’s total power generation for the period.
According to National Grid (LON:NG), wind power generation will reach a peak of 6,229 MW today. Tomorrow the peak will be 4,665 MW at 1200 local time.
Please note that the statistics and projections involve only 8,403 MW of wind farms that have operational metering. According to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the UK had 12,440 MW of operational wind farms at end 2014, including 4,494 MW of offshore wind.
