On Global Wind Day, industry tops 1 million jobs

The wind industry was propelled by record growth last year, reflected in a 5 percent increase in employment in the sector, which now employs 1.1 million people.

With June 15 representing Global Wind Day, Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is highlights the socio-economic benefits generated by the global wind industry, in addition to supplying clean power, according to a press release.
