About The Event

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Informa Markets will be hosting the first-ever MENA Wind Power along side Egypt Energy, the leading energy and power exhibition in Egypt and North Africa with a 30 year history. Taking place on the 1-3 November 2021, this event will facilitate connections and dialogue to tap into the MENA region’s massive wind power potential, and support countries and industry in the region to achieve their net zero targets.

The event will look at how governments are driving the energy transition in the region through policy and regulatory frameworks, how investors are making their decisions to support this transition, the latest trends in the wind industry, and how countries in the region can further scale-up wind power to create greater energy security and socioeconomic benefits.

The event will take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo, with options to join virtually as well.

Why Egypt?

The wind energy market in Egypt is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 15% during the forecast period of 2020-2025. The primary driver for the market includes the government’s efforts to have a low-cost, sustainable, and cleaner form of energy to reduce carbon emissions and limit the impacts of climate change. The country is endowed with vast wind resources, with average annual speeds reaching 8-10m/S by the coast of the Red Sea and 6-8 m/s along the south-west Nile banks and in the south of the Western Desert, which can be utilised for electricity generation.

More information on MENA Wind Power including programme, speakers, exhibition, and sponsorship opportunities coming soon! If you have any questions in the meantime, please get in touch with [email protected].
