The Indian government plans to launch offshore wind tenders for at least 5 GW in 2018, the Economic Times cited Raj Kumar Singh, renewable energy minister, as saying today.
At the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations, the minister of power, new and renewable energy said a survey is already in progress at one location seen as suitable for offshore wind development. Equipment has been ordered for surveys at two other locations, Singh added.
