Chinese wind giant Goldwind has entered the Philippines market with a 132MW supply deal, the company said.
The OEM will supply 53 of its GW 109/2500 machines plus O&M services to the Pasuquin wind power project in Luzon Island.
The company said the order, secured in the second quarter of this year, will also mark the first deployment of Chinese turbines in the country.
Pasuquin is due to enter the construction phase later this year for completion in late 2018.
The Chinese OEM’s Goldwind International unit said the project “ will open the window for Goldwind to increase its visibility in the country and Southeast Asia”.
Although dominant in its domestic market, Goldwind has felt the impact of a cooling of China’ s wind expansion and earlier this year said international and offshore growth would be key priorities for 2017.
