By 2020 India could have 56 GW of wind power supplying 137 terrawatt hours (TW h) of electricity each year, save 82 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissionseach year according to “Global Wind Energy Outlook for 2014” published by Global Wind Energy Council and Greenpeace International.

The sector could also provide employment to over 123,000 people says the report. Published by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Greenpeace International, the Global Wind Energy Outlook is a biennial report that examines the status and future prospects of wind power.
