The Global Wind Energy Council's most recent Global Wind Energy Outlook says that global wind power could reach 2,000 GW by 2030 and provide up to 17 to 19 percent of global electricity.

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Greenpeace International have released the 2014 edition of the Global Wind Energy Outlook. The report shows that global wind power could reach 2,000 GW by 2030, and supply up to 17 to 19 percent of global electricity, creating more than 2 million new jobs and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 3 billion tonnes per year. By 2050, wind power could provide 25 to 30 percent of global electricity supply.
