Global WInd Day in India

On the occasion of the Global Wind Day on June 15, 2016, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and the Indian Wind Energy Association (InWEA) is organising “Wind Discussion Forum”.

Wind Discussion Forum is an initiative supported by Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation with technical inputs from Idam Infrastructure Advisory Pvt. Ltd., and guided by an Advisory Group consisting of industry representatives, sector experts and former electricity regulators. It is an independent forum to discuss policy and regulatory issues facing the wind sector and evolve potential solutions through dialogue, and research.

The highlight of this workshop is the launch of ‘Wind Vision 2032’ for India, prepared under the aegis of the Wind Discussion Forum initiative. ‘Wind Vision 2032’ covers the sector evolution, current landscape, critical issues that need attention, and proposes reaching 200 GW of wind capacity by 2032. It is aimed at providing industry’s perspective for the proposed National Wind Energy Mission.

The meeting will be opned by Smt. Varsha Joshi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and chaired by Dr. Pramod Deo, Former Chairperson, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC).
