What’s on in Greece – Hellenic Wind Energy Association HWEA (www.eletaen.gr) is organising:
- “AIOLOS 2016” FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT (15 June)
For the seventh (7th) consecutive year Hellenic Wind Energy Association (HWEA) is organising five-a-side football tournament to celebrate Global Wind Day. The teams that take part in the tournament are companies that are members or friends of HWEA and are involved one way or the other with wind energy or clean energy. The final is played on the evening of June the 15th and a party follows the cup and medal ceremony.
Last year the President of GWEC Dr. Rave and Prof Zervos EWEA's Chairman for many years attended the final and presented the cup and medals to the first and second teams. - “WIND ENERGY AS A SHIELD AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DRAGONS AND WITCHES” (closing date 15 June)
Since 2007 HWEA organises artistic events, mainly intended to involve children and young people with the purpose of increasing awareness about the planet, climate change and wind energy as a tool to address this. HWEA this year invites all interested parties (individuals or schools) to participate in an artistic field of their choosing. The theme for 2016 is "Wind energy as a shield against environmental dragons and witches". All participations will be compiled in an electronic album which will be displayed on the HWEA’s website: www.eletaen.gr/παγκόσμια-ημέρα-του-ανέμου/.
