About The Event
China is playing a leading role in offshore wind development. As a country that commissioned its first commercial offshore project, Donghai Bridge offshore wind farm, only in 2010, it has now become the world’s largest offshore wind market for new installations since 2018. GWEC Market Intelligence believes China will replace the UK as the world’s largest offshore market in cumulative installation by 2021.
Global Offshore Wind Summit – China is the largest and most influential offshore wind event outside Europe. Last year, it welcomed more than 1,000 visitors from more than 15 countries. After four years of development, this event has become a very important and valuable platform for manufacturers, developers and investors from all around the world.
The 5th edition of the Global Offshore Wind Summit – China will be held in Jinan City, Shandong Province on 27-28 August 2020. Same as last year, GWEC has joined the two Chinese partners CWEA and CREIA as a co-organizer of this landmark event.
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, GOWS-China this year has been postponed from beginning of June to late August. The number of participants will be controlled to no more that 500. We expect to gather government officials, CEO-level speakers and attendees from equipment manufacturers, utilities, IPPs, financial institutions and research centers. Well-known offshore wind experts, such as the offshore wind pioneer Henrik Stiesdal, and other foreign guests will participate on line or by sharing video clips.
The theme for this year’s event is to accelerate global offshore wind development through international cooperation, cross-industry collaboration and technology innovation.
