Following GWEC's fact finding mission in March 2016, we have been closely following this 'hot' market and have been continuing discussions with key industry stakeholders, of which the Ministry of Energy. You may have learned recently that bids far outweighed the original 1GW aim set by the Argentinian government, with 123 bids received of which 3.48GW of wind and 2.83GW of solar. The technical qualification is currently planned for the 3rd October with the auction planned on the 12th October.
GWEC, in partnership with the German Argentine Chamber of Commerce, will organise a one-day interactive seminar to bring together developers and financiers along with those companies heavily involved in the first winning projects. The precise timing of the event is being discussed directly with the Argentinian government in order to align the event with the crucial funding timeframes.
The event already has the official backing of the German Argentine Chamber of Commerce, AWS Truepower, Vestas, Allianz, Hilton, and BMW.
