Dr Klaus Rave re-elected as Chairman of GWEC

Dr Klaus Rave was unanimously re-elected for a two year term as GWEC Chairman at the latest Board meeting which took place in Copenhagen. Dr Rave has been Chairman since 2010.
The GWEC Board also elected a new Executive Committee to support the work of the Chairman, Secretary General Steve Sawyer and the GWEC staff. The ExCo members are Peter Brun (Vestas), Denise Bode (American Wind Energy Association), Juan Rivier Abbad (Iberdrola Renewables) and DV Giri (Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers’ Association).

Brief biography of Dr Klaus Rave
Dr Rave, GWEC chairman, is one of the leading wind power experts in Europe. A lawyer by training, Dr. Rave is one of the leading wind power experts in Europe. As Managing Director of the Investitions bank Schleswig-Holstein, he has been involved in financing wind power projects since 1991, and he has been a strong supporter of wind energy since its early days.
He also served as President of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) from 1999 to 2002, and is currently EWEA’s Vice President.
