Argentina Wind Power 2018

The inaugural Argentina Wind Power took place early September in Buenos Aires with the event deemed successful by many on several levels. Firstly because AWP18 was the platform of choice for the Ministry of Energy’s Subsecretary Sebastián Kind to announce Round 3 updates which had been kept under wraps until the event. This, in itself, generated much media coverage and positioned AWP as the event of choice for wind power in Argentina. Secondly, its two-day rich programme of sessions provided unique insights from industry experts and key legislators, with both sides sharing their views as to how to progress the industry in the short to medium term.

Over 60 quality speakers shared the floor of 16 plenary and round table sessions, including technical, confirming this ‘event organized by the industry for the industry’ as the lead quality content provider in this market.

14 key sponsors supported the event including: Vestas, SGRE, Ventus and EOS Energia, Genneia, Enercon, Nordex Group, Eoliasur, ArcVera Renewables, DNV GL, Envision, Energias Del Plata and UL as well as our many partners, local and international including receiving the endorsement from the Ministry of Energy in Argentina, as well as receiving strong support from the new Cámara Eólica Argentina (CEA) and other key local organisations.

The event attracted over 700 registrants whom are involved in the wind or renewable energy sector in Argentina or wish to be. Local and international exhibitors were also present with small to large booths in what was seen to be a unique venue space, conducive to optimal networking - the JPII of the Universidad Católica Argentina in Puerto Madero.

GWEC’s Ramón Fiestas, President of the Latin America Committee, announced a 2019 edition of the conference with dates and venue yet to be defined.  Calls for interest for sponsorships can be addressed to [email protected]
