Portugal’s renewable power output on August 1, excluding large hydro, declined to 44.8 GWh from 45.2 GWh in the previous day, statistics by power utility Redes Energeticas Nacionais (REN) show.
The wind power output for the day stood at 20.1 GWh, marking a 15.90% drop. It peaked at 1,366.0 MW.
Solar photovoltaics produced 3.1 GWh, compared to 3.0 GWh on July 31.
Portugal topped 5 GW of wind power generation capacity at the end of 2015, figures by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) show. The country ranked sixth in the EU in terms of installed wind per 1,000 inhabitants.
