As the energy transition gathers pace around the world, there is a less celebrated, but nonetheless crucial force that works tirelessly behind the scenes: our people. Many thousands of technicians are involved in installing and maintaining turbines – each confronted with unique and potentially dangerous hazards.
GWO develops globally recognised safety and technical training standards on behalf of the industry, guaranteeing a technician has completed a high quality training whilst allowing owner operators, OEMs, and contractors to streamline their business operations and avoid retraining costs.
Wind power growth and the need to educate a well-trained workforce provide opportunities for job creation as well as for training providers looking to expand their activities towards established and emerging markets.
This session will unveil the third annual GWO/GWEC Global Wind Workforce Forecast, shedding light on workforce dynamics for the construction and maintenance of onshore and offshore wind farms, on the total addressable workforce in scope for GWO training and its segmentation by target market, sector, and phase of project development.
