Windaba 2014 – Register now!

The industry in South Africa is in a very rapid growth phase with 1985 MW of projects awarded by the end of 2013, expectations of 5 GW of installed capacity within 10 years, and ambitions for 9 GW by 2030. All of this inevitably comes with challenges and issues to address.

This year’s conference – with the theme “Power2thePeople” – will focus on the socio-economic challenges faced by the sector as well as the benefits of wind power to the greater South Africa and its communities – within the context of wind farms that are now commissioned and providing electricity. The three day programme will provide a platform to discuss these issues as well as finance, the regulatory framework, grid challenges, and environmental matters.

The latest programme can be viewed here.

Keynote speakers include Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson, South Africa’s Minister of Energy, and Mr Mogens Jensen, The Danish Minister for Trade and Development.

There are still some prominent sponsorship opportunities available, as well as great booth locations, so if your company wants greater visibility in the South African wind market, then this could be the right option for you.

Windaba is South Africa’s premier conference and exhibition jointly organised by SAWEA and GWEC. Windaba 2014 will take place in Cape Town from 3-5 November 2014.
