Wind powers on in Brazil as sector bucks downbeat trend

Despite Brazil's current economic and political crisis, the South American nation could climb to 9th place in the global league table for installed wind power capacity as it continues a high-speed build out of new developments.

By the end of 2015, Brazil is expected to pass 9GW of installed capacity, adding over 3GW during the year – earning it fourth or fifth place in new capacity installed in the year, according to Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) figures.
